Huis Rocklands hou ‘n Onthoutee
Hoërskool Cradock spog met n pragtige dameskoshuis. Hierdie historiese gebou het ‘n bekoring vir soveel mense wat eens op ‘n tyd deel van haar was.
Op Vrydagoggend, 11 Augustus, is daar ‘n Onthoutee gehou vir al die oud-Rocklands inwoners. Daar was 55 dames teenwoordig van verskillende jaargroepe. Daar was lekker gekuier en herinneringe is gedeel. Die spontane deelname en lekker lag het getuig van vriendskapsbande wat hier gevorm was en stories wat tussen haar mure lê.
Ek haal vir Helene Rossouw aan, wat al die pad van Bloemfontein af gekom het: “Dit was verskriklik lekker en ons het al die vertellinge so geniet. Stout is in die Oudtyd gemaak en dit het begin by die begin. Dit sal nog voortduur …… vir ‘n baie lang tyd.”
Die tee is gehou, ten bate van die binneshuis versiering van die pragtige gebou. Ons wil van die geleentheid gebruik maak, om die Oudskolierebond van Hoërskool Cradock, onder leiding van Charles Garth, te bedank vir ‘n donasie van R2 000 wat hulle ten bate van die projek gemaak het.
Baie dankie aan elkeen wat gehelp het om hierdie dag so ‘n groot sukses te maak.
